Home Surveys- A Different Approach
What's included when you instruct Horton & Storey?
At Horton & Storey, we endeavour to work with you during the purchase of a property.
The differences between the surveys and industry jargon can sometimes be daunting for people looking to instruct a survey. This can cause unnecessary stress and often leads purchasers to question whether they have instructed the correct level of survey.
Horton & Storey have a different approach to surveying, Our process includes three steps:
Step One- Consultation
This stage involves a member of the team talking with you about key elements of the purchase. Factors such as the reason for the purchase, basic information relating to the property and express concerns are discussed prior to quotation. We then cover the different levels of survey available and agree on which level would be suitable for your purchase. Once agreed, the terms of engagement, instruction letter and invoice are sent over to you via DocuSign.
Step Two- Survey
At this stage, you have two options. Firstly, you can meet the surveyor at the property during the survey to discuss the findings in a ‘live’ situation to gather initial feedback. Secondly, have the surveyor walk through the main findings via a Zoom meeting whilst carrying out the survey. This stage is an ideal time to ask any questions you may have whilst the surveyor is at the property.
Step Three- Reflection and Review
A zoom video meeting is carried out with you to discuss any further findings after a period of reflection from the surveyor. The headline findings of the report are discussed in further detail. Once the report is published a follow-up telephone call is standard to close instruction.
This three-step approach is different. It’s more holistic than the market alternatives and seeks to help purchasers through a flexible, engaging process.
